ABOUT COVER CROPS

We know the challenges of cover crops well – they can be hard to terminate, hard to establish, rob the seedbed of moisture, and create insect and disease issues. But we also know the incredible benefits they can bring to a farm – nutrient recycling, nitrogen production, creating soil tilth, drainage, soil temperature moderation, erosion control, soil/microbe health, and carbon sequestration.

As farmers ourselves, we have years of direct experience with cover crops. That means we know what's needed to maximize benefits and minimize challenges. But we're not just coming in with a big one-size-fits-all plan: we customize the process to your specific operation. We also blend, bag, and grow some of our own seeds, ensuring that both the advice and materials you get from us are of the highest quality.

Cover crop seeds available include daikon radish, crimson clover, Canadian rye, sugar beets, and more. We select and make recommendations based on conversations with the grower, because the right mixture and seeds selected is very important for success.
